According to the Landsarkivet I Uppsala, Sweden, Johanna Rimstedt married farm hand Fredrik Fredriksson, who had previously migrated to North America. She could read well and had staisfactory knowledge of religion. She belonged to the Lutheran Church. She left the parish of Veta in Ostergotland according to the certificate, dated October 11, 1881. The oldest of the children was born in Herrberga or Harberga parish, the following in Veta parish. With exception of teh youngest child, all were vaccinated. Her husband came to America around 1880 and was here for a little over a year before sending for his wife and five children to join him. Johanna sailed for America with her 5 children on October 11, 1881. The family settled in or near Madelia, Minnesota. Johanna died of birth complications when the youngest child, Joseph was born.
